Fighting against Illegal Immigration

Everyday, tax dollars in Georgia are being spent to support illegal immigration. Our legal citizens cannot afford healthcare, but our tax dollars are being spent to provide it to illegal immigrants.

Around the Nation each day, we hear more and more of the threat that the criminal element of illegal immigrants present to our children and our families. We must protect our families and promote law and order.

Not only do illegal immigrants break our laws, but they also provide a threat to public safety.

• Will fight to ensure that illegal immigration and law-breaking will not be condoned.
• Will fight to ensure that our tax dollars are not spent to support illegal immigrants who intentionally break our laws and especially when it jeopardizes our citizens.
• Would support legislation to make all government documents in English.
• Proud that the GA General Assembly passed SB 529, the strongest illegal immigration reform bill in the country and would support it if it was ever brought up again.
• Will fight to give local law enforcement all the resources they need to arrest and detain illegal immigrants.

Taxes and Spending

"As a farmer and land owner and as a county commissioner, I know the effects of high taxes on our farmers and families."

• I will be a consistent leader that will work for tax reform that is good for every citizen. I don’t believe in quick-fixes and band-aids, I support comprehensive reforms that are good for the taxpayers of this district.
• I would support a Fair Tax in Georgia, replacing state income tax with a sales tax.
• I will always fight against wasteful government spending.
• I would support legislation like Senate Resolution 21 that would limit government-spending growth to rate of population growth and inflation.
• I believe in running government like a business and never spending money we don’t have. Just like your family, government should spend money it doesn’t have.

Making our Community Stronger

As your State Representative, it will be my mission to do everything I can to continue to make the communities in District 117 stronger for our families and our future.

Economic Development

We need more than a Representative. We need a regional cheerleader. We need someone who will work EVERYDAY to bring new, high-wage jobs to our community and protect the one’s we have.

• The Medical College of Georgia provides a bastion of jobs to our community. As your State Representative, I will ensure that this amazing resource remains in this community.
• I will work every day as your State Representative to ensure that we promote high-wage jobs that will continue to attract people to our community.
• I’ll work everyday with our local Chambers of Commerce and the Georgia Board of Industry, Trade and Tourism to bring new, high wage jobs to our community.
• There are a lot of factors that help in economic development, but as an old football coach once said, it’s about want-to.

Quality of Life

As State Representative, I will work with local elected officials of Columbia, Lincoln and Wilkes to ensure that we do everything we can to protect and better our quality of life this community. We have one of the highest qualities of life in the nation, but it can be even better.

Public Safety

Public safety is a vital part of protecting our quality of life in Lincoln, Wilkes and Columbia Counties. Without a safe community, our families will live in fear and businesses will not want to locate here.

• Will fight to give law enforcement the resources they need to protect our families.
• Will always stand up and be strong advocate for law enforcement.

Education

Children are very important to me, and the best we can help the children of today and generations to come is by providing them with the best education possible so that they may harness the tremendous opportunities that exist.

• The state should set high standards and empower local systems to achieve these standards through providing the necessary resources.
• Continue to fight for local control of schools. Parents, teachers and administrators know best how to educate our children.
• Columbia County’s schools are different than Wilkes County’s that are different than Lincoln schools. This is why I do not support one size fits all mandates.

We need a State Representative that will not just work for a better community but one who will fight for the Conservative values we believe in and make our community great.
